Don't Drink The Kool-Aid

1973 Watergate Hearings
In 1973 I was an orderly at Jewish Hospital. Virtually every patient in the hospital was watching the Watergate hearings. Richard Nixon resigned as President of the United States. A year later Nixon was charged with abuse of power, obstruction of justice, and contempt of Congress.

Between 1974 and current times, there are many, many who long for those days when they won and would like to do it again.

Clinton Impeachment Hearings

Democratic president Bill Clinton was found guilty of obstruction of justice and perjury, and though he was disgraced he did not leave office. His legacy of allowing existing banking laws to be overturned eventually led to the 2008 financial crisis.

Hilary Loses
When Hillary Clinton was defeated in her bid to become president, and Donald Trump won, the liberal Democratic party, and the outgoing president never got over it. President Obama was quoted as organizing a “Shadow Presidency” in news articles.

Since 2016 politics in the United States have been fodder for cable news, and social media. And there are so many people that are obsessed with who is right and who is wrong.

Facebook becomes sounding board

There are people on Facebook that seem like it is their job to disparage President Trump, and Republican politicians. There are also others that give equal voice to printing critical articles regarding Democratic leadership and their ideals.

During my life I have learned several important lessons.

Friendship

1. If you value friendship over hurting people, before you say or print anything, ask yourself is it worth sacrificing that friendship.

Responsibility

2. Your job is to be responsible.

News Interpretation

3. The news media, and social media has devolved into opinion. It is no longer news.

Money Talks

4. Money talks.

Power Corrupts

5. There are forces in this world that seek power. They seek money and fame, but in the end it all comes down to power. These can be politicians, members of Congress (local or national), judges, lobbyists, organizations, military groups, drug cartels,  religious groups, anarchists, cults, and others.

Extremists

6. Extremists are always dangerous. They may look harmless, they may be based on wonderful ideas, they may be right, they may be left, they may be wrong, they may be obviously evil. They are always dangerous. Their leaders are narcissists.

Don't Drink The Kool Aid. Think For Yourself

7. Think, evaluate, and learn for yourself. Don’t drink the Kool-Aid.
